Alessia Cara

When she was 19, she released her debut single Here. It was a huge success and was praised by critics and listeners alike. The Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked the single at 19. Even Rolling Stone listed the hit as among the Top Songs in 2015. The same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third song Scars to Your Beautiful being the first of five tracks that peaked at Billboard charts. This includes those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 as well as the Billboard Hot 100. The song was particularly memorable because it was based on an interview with Rap-Up many listeners were inspired by her story through self-doubt and discovering how to accept herself. Cara includes messages of kindness and loving yourself throughout her songs. She's been in the midst of anxiety and insomnia, both of which affected her life. According to Reuters interview, she has described her album as half-tumultuous and half-perfected. She tells people that she found her growth through therapy. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on the 11th of July 1996. She was given a guitar from her parents at the time she turned 10 which ignited her musical passion. A few years later, at 13 she began covering her favorite songs through YouTube an important media platform to show the world that she had the talents and determination to develop into a professional singer. One of her covers, Sweater Weather, was what got her noticed. EP Entertainment gave her the opportunity to create and record her own tracks.
